April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th in 1995. In the seventh grade, she started taking piano and guitar lessons. It was this that ignited her love for songwriting. When she was in seventh grade she began to take piano and guitar lessons. The lessons sparked her passion in songwriting. As April approached 14 years old, she spent long hours developing song ideas and perfecting her music. Then, in the following months, April began to travel with her dad and to write songs at home in NY or LA. April also began incorporating other relevant topics into the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle influencer, as well as working in partnerships with brands that are clean and healthy like Ilia, has built an impressive audience. She was not born with a left hand, and that is why she's what she is. It's just not all the facts. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability on her Instagram account, but she does not make it the main focus of the post. It's a message. that we are all a part of a multitude and that we are all unique and that we are more than our physical selves. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart in a video interview "I am not convinced that my physical appearance will define my character. My goal is not to have an impact on disabilities because I've got so much more to offer." The fact that she is a disability influencer doesn't impact my life. Everything is normal and I have learned to make adjustments. However, I also consider it to be a vital part of myself. Self-acceptance is a long marathon but Lockhart truly inspires me for this aspect. However, she admits that she has had periods that made her feel uncomfortable about her appearance and wearing clothing which displayed her arms. It's her choice to wear what she'd like, and proudly shares photos of her dressed in her favorite outfits. For her, self-love is a long journey. It's a journey, I'm sure that you never arrive.
