Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) was an American actor, singer and dancer. In her early Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. in You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed directors and actors across the stage, film and TV and she will continue that collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford's upcoming project is an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to return in 2023 and will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. This show will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters in the first impeachment trial in the United States in more than a century. For two seasons, she was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It with You won her the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Other Broadway roles for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received an Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and brought up in Denver and now lives between Los Angeles and New York.
